    Hi all,

All of the insurance companies I have looked at seem to ask the same "Is the home well maintained and in good condition" type question, and if you hit no they are unable to offer insurance. I'm wondering what everyone does for insurance when buying a project house that isn't in the best of conditions?

    Thanks!

    It's a subjective question.

In those instances you may be better off talking with the insurance representative or seeknleg out a specialist insurer/broker rather than doing the online thing.

If the house is not secure, watertight, well maintained and has a functioning bathroom and kitchen, most insurers will simply not take it on, even if you ring and speak to a consultant. Depending on the extent of the work you are planning you may have to consider Construction Insurance instead?
