Insurance for block of units

    Does anyone have experience with getting insurance for a block of units, where they are all under one title? Are there multiple insurance needed, i.e. multiple building insurance + common strata insurance?

    I still own 3 multi unit blocks and have always used a specialist insurance broker.

    Some insurers will only go to a certain number of units in the block. If there is more than one "roofline" it'll be a tad more expensive (eg 4 units all under the one roofline will generally be cheaper to insure than 4 units spanning two buildings ie two rooflines).

    How many units are in the block you're looking at? GIO will do a 4pack. Brokers will have visibility on more options of course.
