It doesn't include the price of a dishwasher. I'd have to supply that. I've attached a picture of where it would be installed.
Anybody got a recommendation on the Goldie?

Seems a bit spendy to me unless the waste and water connection is complex. Its a full days labour to plug a washing machine in and put a trim around it. I would suggest getting another quote to compare

looks like it's not just installing a dishwasher but also reconfiguring the cabinet if so seems reasonable.

You'd have to be hopeful to get a reliable dishwasher for that price.

is there a threaded connection to the water service as well as a powerpoint under the cupboard? If these are existing then price seems a little high depending on the final finish, but if these aren't then it sounds very reasonable to me.

If the taps or unions under the sink are threaded it is a relatively easy connection for handyman or installer and possibly won't need a plumber. Otherwise if connections are brazed a plumber will be required at at cost of $150-$200 for their bit.

Had a similar cabinet modification done for a property in Perth in December for $385. This didn't include the new under bench tap and hoses, but haven't been charged for this as yet. IMG_20191205_111440.jpg IMG_20191220_110522.jpg

The 660 includes GST and I’m assuming everything needed. Although you can pick up requires parts for install at Bunnings for super cheap.

so 385 was the total cost including the install and connection of the dishwasher?

Yes $385 was the total including install and connection of dishwasher. I thought I would have been charged extra for the tap, hoses and waste connection, but the maintenance guy might have included this in his work.
I supplied the $370 dishwasher bought from appliances on line.

    Price seems OK.

Hang on. It didn't include price of dishwasher? Then I have to say it's too much.

@ALT that was a great price considering the guy resized both the under sink cabinet doors (and moved the cabinet door frame).

    Just Lino.

I'm waiting on a reply from the handyman re the breakdown of costs to see what I'm actually paying for.

Probably a sign of a bad quote. It doesnt explain what the job comprises:
    - Remove cabinet door (possibly fill holes)
    - Cut kickboard and trim lino
    - Remove base of cabinet unit and reinforce frame as required.
    - Clean cockroach shi7 from under cupboard and avoid spewing in the process.
    - Unbox d/washer
    - remove lid from dishwasher for height clearance
    - Install, connect and test
    - Fit timber surround
    - Clean and leave disposing of foam, carton and bits.
    - Travel to / from job

$660 for that is so different to an invoice to install.

You're so right. Had he written this, I may not have thought twice about it. Although I automatically felt 660 was too much. 385 on other hand sounds like a massive bargain.

    update:
I got a reply from the Handyman.

"Cost for the installation is made up of $225 in materials and $375 in labour + GST
The job is quite fiddly and I expect it will take most of the day to install."

I asked for a more detailed quote with individual costs. Is the above a fair reply?

If your handyman charges $50 per hour, that is 7.5 hours for the fiddly alterations to the cupboard. To be honest, it could take that long, depending on how much has to be changed internally, trims externally.

What about sending photos (external and inside that cupboard) to another handyman and getting a second quote?

To be fair, I don't think anybody charges $50/hr anymore. Also include travel costs. $375 for labour alone is pretty spot on as anything much lower than that and you cannot expect a professional job.
