Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.

There was one that stuck in my mind at the height of the pre-GST housing boom in late 90’s / early 00’s……..A financial paper was doing one of those fluff pieces where they interviewed several well- known property identities on January 1st to ascertain what their goals were for the year ahead.

Despite the booming market this simple answer from one major player was magnificent : “When the music stops I need to know I can still find a chair”.

Liz Gilbert: In the end, I've come to believe in something I call "The Physics of the Quest." A force in nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity. The rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: If you're brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Churchill

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Churchill

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But until you start believing in yourself, you ain't gonna have a life.ROCKY

Yes. Sly was down out in the mid seventies. Nothing to his name but a dog. He sold the dog for $25. He saw an Ali fight and was inspired to write a script. He auditioned for a role which he didn't get but mentioned the script to the casting crew. They had a look and liked it. It went upstairs to the producers etc. They liked it. They offered him $25k for it. He refused...they negotiated until 375k with a caveat that he must star in it. They refused. It went on until they agreed on 35k for him to be in it and about 1m financing to produce it. He did it using hand held cameras and a lot of friends played extras to keep costs down.

It grossed over $200m and won 3 Oscars out of 9 nominations.

I think it was something along those lines.
