What if you just got mentored by the mentor's mentor and didn't know it..

So true, the help is there but I'm sure my own attitudes and perceptions stop me from even reaching out

@Taku Ekanayake is featured in today's Financial Review. Only on page 3  albeit it is the Easter long weekend bumper edition so all is forgiven :p

As his marketing and branding strategist :D it would be remiss if me not to point it out in case others need inspiration and the understanding that there are markets beyond Sydney. Here is the link however don't expect it to be active for a week or so unless you subscribe. You can try copying title and searching in google to get around the paywall.

Six investment properties but could not afford to buy in Sydney

Cool stuff. I think the reporter didn't get the location of his Qld places quite 100% correct.... kudos anyway!

:p Exactly. @Anthony Brew , ask the one who irritates you the most - that's where there's something to learn.
Then again, maybe I should take my own advice!
Edit: But only if you think they're reasonably sane and they've done more work than you and achieved success. Mum and Dad handouts with good timing doesn't cut it.

Haha thank you @Player, VP of Brand & Strategy for the recognition. But exactly to your point - plenty of other markets out there and the opportunities are abundant when you play outside of your backyard :)

Gockie and Taku should join forces and become Goku, to be the winner of property.

What has been your strategy to mitigate yourself against the recent IO rate rises?

Because I don’t have the Japanese language skills for that atm (plus, so forumites here can read it)…
Ps. I was just in Japan. Bought something in a kombini, it looked intriguing, and on the container (round take away container, like what you get soup in in Australia) everything was written in Japanese. I took it to my hotel and it turned out it was Okonomiyaki - Japanese pancake and you had to mix it all up and cook it! Well, my accommodation had a microwave but no other cooking facilities (i.e. stovetop), so I had to dispose of it unfortunately. :(

I was more careful with what I bought after that!

Working to pay those holding costs !!!! Turns out resi portfolio's actually requires income to cover all the holding costs; especially when the Term Funding Facility sugar hit wears off and the P&I piper needs to be paid :) It's the same for everyone who hasn't won lotto or inherited large sums.
