    Not suggesting this exact design...

But don't mind the white stone being used, instead of the red in the original blend.

    Agree with @Brady

This looks cheap and the Hampton-esque style you're going for shouldn't have exposed brick IMO. If you don't want a full on timber (weather board) look, then the bottom can be rendered whilst keeping timber facade on the upper level with a circle vent for aesthetic. For me exposed brick is incongruent to the style, unless there are some others you can find and post. The facade you've posted does not have the street appeal the buyers may be after.....merely my 0.02

I like the second one the most. I've seen similar and I liked it... just trying to get something with an extra oomph. But I do like it.

I agree on that picture it's just a starting point for my Hamptons. Mainly I am wanting to mixed the exposed brick with a Hamptons look. I have to do 1 Hamptons. Can't get away from it. I wish I could though.

I'm beginning to agree, it's definitely not your traditional Hamptons. Arghhh...

Okok. I'll have to go more traditional on it.

Dont think you will have too much trouble on the contemporary design.
Reckon the hamptons will need a bit of work.

Yes, that's my trouble. This is apparently a good Hamptons design which is popular.

I like that White stone. I'll see if I can incorporate it in my design.

Is BCC calling the shots about having to do a Hamptons? Or agent?

If you must do a Hamptons (?) then what about this but add a couple of exterior nods to Hamptons without being so predictable (porthole in the gable end)?

Agent, and more than one. Also having two different homes is a big plus. It's not a character area so BCC have no say.

Yes I noted a few posts up I do like this design so far. Then just add a few bits and pieces. Then pray that my estimator doesn't give me an earful. I won't include anything untill he gives me the nod. Cos he knows exactly what it'll cost to build and knows my budget intimately.

But does it have to be Hamptons? It's just getting a bit "been there, done that" and I'm a bit surprised that agents are pushing this.

I like Hamptons style, but it is just getting a bit common, but I also don't like mirror image houses. If I'm spending $1.5m on a house, I don't want my house to be the same as the one right next door.

I just wonder if you can do a very different second house, without going so far down the Hampton track?

Well both homes won't be the same, that's for sure. With the Hamptons one , it's really not going to be super Hamptons internally. More like a Regency mix. So Hampton elements with a modern take. It comes out well and the agent's like that idea too.

Thanks to @Brady inspo, I'm going for this internal look.

Sounds good. There is an old Queenslander cottage near us that has gone OTT Hamptons. It could not be removed, so they've tacked a HUGE extension on the back, full panoramic city views, fabulous position, but so over the top Hamptons that it is almost Disney. I guess I keep imagining it and wonder why they didn't just do a Queenslander style extension. It doesn't look good IMO.
