Lately I have been getting heaps of spam phone calls and emails on my personal phone and email. It must be from all these sign ins I have been doing when eating out.

    Anyone experiancing the same?

@Terry_w my phone! I have been using a phone to sign in that only a very few people have ever had the number for. I have been thinking the same thing

Yep same here. Just the other day got a call on my mobile from lovely sounding lady telling me my Telstra internet will be disconnected in 30 minutes unless I blah blah blah

First time I got these calls on my mobile. I then went and had some tandoori chicken with naan bread.

Not sure if it is a coincidence but all my email subscription cancellations that I did last year all seemed to be reinstated during covid times. Can't comment on the calls as it has been switched off while overseas.

Is that your Mobile? Lucky you, punishment for eating out!
We havent been eating out much, but certainly have lots and lots of calls on both our mobiles.
I dont answer unknown phone numbers anymore, which is sad but 99% are scams.
Some of them even have the audacity to leave messages to say that there is a pending legal case against me!
We disconnect our landline which we have a lovely number. this one is 99.99999% scam calls!

Oh so cranky! You think surely someone can do something about it by now.

Have your "do not call register" listings expired?

"Do not call" register only applies to calls originating from Australia. Call origins can be spoofed.

    First clue it's a spam call - there's a long wait.

Second clue - they don't know how to pronounce Geoff. "Could I speak with Gee Off" or Joff or Joof.

i have a google pixel, which apparently people can notify that a caller is spam and then it notifies others that the number calls as well. a bit like google gmail I guess.

On one covid sign In form for a restaurant i had to specifically tick a box to “opt out” of my information being used for marketing purposes. Though that was rather cheeky

Same here however if the number isn't flagges spam before it won't pick it up as spam!
