We just bought a Toyota rav 4 hybrid and I’m not sure whether to spend $2k on their dash cam or get something fitted myself. I’ve never used a dash cam before but definitely want one with this car. I also want it to work when the car is turned off, which they’ve said means a $500 battery as it’s a hybrid (that’s included in the $2k). If after market I’m not really keen on fitting it myself. I want something super easy to use as well. Suggestions?

Have a chat with a few of the auto accessory places or auto electricians (Linky) - research what is available and how they will look in the car when installed. There's even the option for parking mode (extra battery).

I remember when I bought a new car (several years ago) blootoof (sic), it was going to cost an additional $2k so expect prices to tumble.
