    I would have thought "capacity to pay" would come into it?

    A measure solely against GDP is a reasonably blunt way to measure capacity.

    They say the US dollar has dropped. Maybe Mal will get a rise in the polls ?

    I have a sneaky suspicion that Labour will get in next time, not going to be good for property investors if this happens.
