There's a few forumites who have mentioned cleaners.

What I have now found is that cleaners don't have to be expensive. Some are and some arent. :D
Look for someone on Airtasker (I like to use Airtasker and HI Pages) :)

I was surprised getting gardening work done too wasn't expensive either, just $50 per hour, that's good value and makes everything presentable...

I'm sure glad i'm doing fairly well though and not living pay packet to pay packet.

Don't let my airplane and couture handbag fool you - this is item number 11 - the ability to join two astronomically expensive items together

If the heel height is an indicator of wealth, most of the 15 year olds I see are rolling in it. There's a fine line between wealthy and slapper. ;)
    @Westminster Haha! You're all class ;)

    They're really not.

We pay $70 a fortnight for a cleaner to do two hours of work that I HATE doing. Can't remember the last time I cleaned a shower, etc.

Sometimes we splash out and get a personal chef for the night too - mostly for special occasions (birthdays, etc). Same cost as a fancy restaurant but we don't have to worry about finding a babysitter, etc. We just eat on the deck while the kids are in bed.

    Cheers

    Jamie

I can honestly say I'm nothing like the description:

    I don't drink.

I can still run. Pulled out a 13.1 on the beep test not long ago, and feel I could run a sub 4hr marathon tomorrow if I really had to.

Currently riding a $1500 aluminum Cyclocross bike to train on. It weighs 11+ kilograms with huge 28mm tyres and thorn-proof tyres for extra rolling resistance.

I do actually wear high quality bibs (not Rapha though) due to the amount of time I do spend on the bike. I'm not a fan of having saddle sores lanced out of my undercarriage. I do prefer 'club cut' rather than 'race cut' jerseys (slightly less formed type jersey).

Whilst I do enjoy a coffee, I'm no poser at a coffee shop. I drink my unassuming skinny flat white, and I'm off again. Every 2min off the bike is a kilometer wasted.

I do feel rich as a cyclist though, for many other reasons. It would be cliché of me to say its a sport where you meet great people, it gives you increased fitness and it is good for the environment......blah blah blah.

Through cycling, I have found myself. The highs, the lows, the training, the hard work, the pain - It's an incredible sport to challenge ones mental and physical barriers. Every day, I find myself concocting or searching for the next big challenge. A challenge to try and 'break' my own self, where there could very well be failure, but just as equally, triumph. Who does that? Me! Why? Because I dare!

I've encountered many times where I have had to talk myself back into getting going again. I live for that feeling of searing pain, and keep going back for more. Its that hunger for pain that makes me feel rich. Over the last week, I was involved in a charity ride. I wont go into the semantics of that ride here, but I was touched in a way where I think I need to do something with my cycling to help others be/feel 'rich' as well. I have more concocting to do, that's for sure.

    Sorry, Scotty, you're wrong. :D
Most rich people don't display any of those sorts of bling and don't behave like in the article.
    An example,
An elderly ethnic man I know in his late 70s looks like a drunk, dresses like a vagrant, farts like a horse, behaves like a homeless hobo but owns multiple apartment double brick block units in Brunswick plus several houses in Melbourne. He still shuffles into his tenants properties to do all the minor repairs himself (really tight-arse) and loves rifling through their stuff to see what he can pinch without them noticing (umbrella, windbreakers).
He's a widower, no children and when my friend asked if he had made arrangements for a will
He shrugged, waved his hands airily and said nonchalantly, 'let my relatives fight over it'

    Hahaha! I wish!
Nobody can make him do nuttin he doesn't want to do :p
The most penny pinching, oops, I mean 'frugal' landlord I know:D
My friend's waterlogged carpets he took months to replace
My friend and I shake our heads, we don't understand why he loves hoarding all this wealth when he doesn't intend to give it to anyone or charity when he goes
They say truth is stranger than fiction
