With the volatility of Crypto it will be interesting to see what happens between now and the 15th when I normally update this sheet (Although this month it will be the 20th as I am on vacation on the 15th :).

We are now showing a profit (10.76% in total or 20.45% since last month). Hopefully the profit remains for the update in a couple of days.

It's really interesting that if we ended the experiment after the 12 months our takeaway from the data would be that Crypto was terrible and would not amount to anything.

However at this point with very different results we come back to the old saying there is timing the market and there is time in the market, it looks like time in can erase the problems presented by timing in this case.

Looking forward to tracking this on to the end of the year, I cannot in any way predict what will happen :).

Big night for Crypto last night, now at 22.18% total and 32.88% vs LM

Official update to sheet will be tomorrow (15th every month to stop any data fudging with me picking and choosing when to update :))

What is super interesting is the growth since the start of the year. This year my holdings have grown by 165.87%

And a completely meaningless but interesting bit of data, I pegged it every month all the way down, the first month that I stopped putting money in is when it has turned around. Funny how things work out.

Why is it now that I want to put back into topping up my IOTA holdings. Clearly I don’t heed Warren Buffett’s advice. Haha

Well IOTA got to over $5 last bull run, it’s currently 36c. Can’t go to bad buying it now...

Yeah I know. I originally bought it at 50c and then topped up a few times during its bull run. Had a nice little paper profit before the bear took over.

36c in comparison is a steal. I’m just not sure I can bring myself to topping up further.
I’m fairly confident of another bull run though!

After 18 months, I have decided to can this project.

Final stats are brilliant so I think I will use the $ to pay for my next cruise :).

But with a little set aside for CGT. (Which is far better than having losses to be used for future offsets).

Why don’t you recoup your initial outlay and leave the rest in there? If you believe in the long term potential of cryptos, you really could end up regretting not leaving even a little bit in there.
IMO, this is still early days, lots more to come.
I think if you keep even just a bit it’ll keep you interested in the space even if you stop your current project.
Thanks for sharing your journey !

I'd keep it in there Dan.

Crypto is way to volatile for a traditional investment, but can really rock if you put in play money and forget about it.

Buy a ledger nano s , shove all the crypto on there (or a paper wallet) then have another look at it in 10 years time.

Rest assured i'm not out of the game with Crypto, just decided to end this particular project and cash in for a holiday :).

I will be doing a $250 a month investment into it again and will do so for more than a year this time, I believe in the power of this asset class and I do think there is much potential ahead for it :).

Once my stock investment project finishes, I won't do that one again, I don't have the time to research where to put the funds to make it worthwhile for me.
