Was buying yoghurt today, these were stacked up on each other. I didn’t realise until I got home that I was conned. How is this even allowed?! These look the same, especially under supermarket lights. Now I’m stuck with bloody Greek STYLE yoghurt.

A perfect post for the first world problems thread.

Where did you buy the Greek style yoghurt from?

@Gockie thought this deserved it’s own thread - I want to know how this marketing is legal! I’ve sent a message to Jalna about it on Facebook, as well as the Five:am con artists. All bought from Woolies. I’m hoping I can save others from making this mistake!

@Terry_w I am not interested in Greek Style! I like my yoghurt authentic Greek!

@Lizzie made my own once and didn’t compare to Jalna :(

The secret is to add 1/3rd cup of powdered milk power litre of straight milk ... and temperature control is essential ... thick and creamy

No was much, much nicer in my opinion but I think that’s because it has heaps more sugar in it!!

ugh I don’t like it sweet! The sugar difference isn’t much, like 1g per 100g I think, but maybe there’s sweeteners in it :(

Isn’t Greek style yogurt the same as Greek yogurt? Because none of it is actually made in Greece - it just means a plain tart thick yogurt ( with only basic ingredients).

I get mine from Aldi (the full fat type (10%) is very tart but I usually get the lite which is about 3.6% fat).

Or from Coles I love the Farmers Union vanilla bean type Greek style yogurt.

Had a very bad experience with the Jalna pot set vanilla yogurt (horrible flavour).

The reason the "low fat" is less tart is because they up the sugar significantly to compensate the taste

I'd never buy low fat for that reason. Sugar is the biggest cause of health problems in the western world

    Ooops not 2% - just checked and it’s 3.6* with 5.6g sugars per 100g.

Not sure how that compare with the full fat version re. sugars.

I hate low fat yogurt too. No taste even with the sugar. And added thickners.

If I can't get Dodoni (from Harris Farm), then I'll have to settle for the Jalna.

Likewise, I'll pass on the sweetened stuff (most of the time).

Hubby accidentally bought prawns once - he was so excited...until he realised they were vegan.

THAT is false advertising. Imagine if we sold spinach that had in very small brackets (spinach-free) and was actually made of meat?:D

He was so cranky it was hilarious.

PS - they tasted like congealed flour. Because that’s what they were.
