Not on this site, but if you stumbled onto a hard core property investing con artist who was in the process of ripping people off for large sums of money, and court was too slow, who would be useful people to contact to make sure this person's moral fibre (or lack of) and behaviour gets the exposure it warrants? Australia and NZ

Thanks Terry, if this person has a real estate license, and a credit licence and runs a property investing mentoring course and can be proven to have not returned a large personal loan from a friend would ACC still be interested though? The deception is not related directly to their work.

No one would be interested in that I think, other than the lender.

In theory, but if this person is holding themselves up as a property investment mentor, with FB ads and webinars etc but has ripped someone off for alot of money, and can be shown to have planned it would potential course participants like to be aware?

I don't think so. It is a civil dispute which can be litigated over.

From a gossip point of view it might interest them but this is a separate issue to the course.

Also how would you give them this information? You have to worry about defamation laws too

ASIC have a website you can report scammers and they may have concerns if it impacts a person with a credit license even if its not directly related. Credit license holdings have obligations to be of good character and repute. This route may avoid concerns about defaming them when you lack firm evidence and facts.

Ok, well I feel very embarrassed by being so sucked in but Tyrone Shum has very kindly offered me a podcast slot to share my experience of being fleeced by a con artist (anonymised of course).

I'm recording it next week..eek! I'm going to take a massive.hit to my pride to reduce the chances of someone else falling into the same trap.

No, I don't think she has but he'd been following her FB group and was shocked when I said who it was along with providing evidence.

Thanks Bob, I hadn't heard if PICA, I'll contact them. I've also reported to police and put a misconduct complaint in with ASIC. This person advertises themselves as a mentor, is still making videos to promote themselves and running student groups, and thinks they can keep hold of a large amount of my money. Totally brazen.
