    Hi,

As per heading, have a friend who is tying the knot again in 2weeks and I have no idea what to do regarding a present. Any ideas?

Background: both married before, both have primary aged kids. We are friends of groom.

    All suggestions welcome!

    Thanks,

    Kassy

None of the above I'm afraid. I gave him a gift voucher last wedding so I need to be a bit more creative this time.. :D

I once booked a spa getaway for a couple. It all depends on your budget (and how close you are with them. :)

I love cash culture as it save so much hassle for the giver and help the new couple get what they want with the cash and it a lot more practical

Asian Italian and Greek are big cash givers
Enough for deposit on a house with close relatives 2-10k per family cash gift are normal

Large family is a bonanza for the couple

Great idea! Definitely consider this! He is a bit of a blokey bloke so I will run it passed DH to get his opinion as well. :)

@Xenia and @PandS money seems a bit impersonal/too easy. He’s always gone the extra mile for us as a friend so want to do/get something personal. Not easy!

Money is a poor present. Makes it look like you don't know them or their interests at all.

Couple getaway is a good idea, or perhaps even a family thing since they have kids

Nice card and money (easy and practical and you can make the card extra special); voucher for dinner at a favourite restaurant; nice bottle or two of quality wine or non alcoholic fizzy something with some nice food in a basket.

Come on you really interested in other people wedding? or just another chore you to have go through ? Unless you are immediate family, I say most people dredge weddings and all the formality that goes with it -:)

Sorry but I think the money culture got it right and sort out the charade and get to the practicality

Do I want 5 presents of similar things or a vocation to a place I may not even want to go or compared to money where I go where I want or buy what I need or I just don’t need any more cluster I and put the money toward a house deposit.

Most these days have a "wishing well".......
    So I take several envelopes
One with a card and write "my wish for your wishing well, is that that it finds you happy and well" :p
Another with $1, and write "invest this as wisely as you have chosen, you will be rich forever" ;)
Last one is usually empty o_O (unless I cant find a suitable pressie)

Usually I find a gift

I see it differently, people always get you **** gifts you don't really want or need. Most people will buy what they want or need so I say cash is best or nothing at all.

Something like an Airbnb or other accommodation voucher? They can choose their destination.

I've always been anti-money as a gift, but have grown to realise that getting things that aren't what I would have picked is annoying & a waste of time & space, so why would I do that to someone else?

    Money all the way now.
