I might have to give one of these a go.
Is it made with condensed milk or something?

Yep - some things are really not meant to be made from garlic ... although it is a very multi-purpose wonderfood :D

Because of everyone talking about ice cream, in my moment of madness, had a whole tub of Ben and Jerry ice cream. No regrets whatsoever.

I wanna know what icecream maker Peastman bought ... I bought one years back that you had to store the insert in the freezer ... and even tho the mix was as fridge cold as I could make it ... it never really made good icecream as the insert warmed up just enough from the beater movement to make it creamy rather than icy.

I'd like one of those types they use on MKR, with the inbuilt freezing, but smaller

    Sorbet ingredients:-
    Fruit
    Sugar
    Water
    Vodka

    Ice-cream Ingredients:-
    Milk
    Cream
    Sugar
    Baileys
    Whatever flavour I like.

Throw ingredients into blender then put in Ice-cream maker for about 30 mins. Put in any bits (Chocolate chips, broken biscuits, smashed peppermint crisp bars, etc.) then spoon into cups and place in freezer.

Really is basic, not refridgerated, you have to freeze the bowl overnight. But I like what it produces. Once made it is a bit like soft serve but when ice-cream is stored in freezer, it's consistency is just like commercial ice-cream. The maker is rather noisy, so we use it in the bathroom and shut the door.

If you have a kitchenaid mixer you can get an ice cream maker attachment, will be better texturally than the cheaper makers which freeze but dont churn imo

    Sounds easy enough.
How much does an ice cream maker go for these days?

Cheapest I could find online for the same as peastman's was $99.95 ... but had to laugh at the "need to spend over $100" to get free shipping ... the buggers ... I'd pay and extra 5c to get the free shipping ...

Sounds alright, don't know if I'd use it much. Would probably sit next to the unused bread makers etc... collected over the years.

Unfortunately I'm lactose intolerant but for Maggie Beer's burnt fig ice cream I will tolerate the suffering because it's soooooooooo good.

By the way all lactose free ice creams taste like crap. Just in case anyone has the urge to go try one. Liddells used to make the only half decent one and then they discontinued it!!!!!
