    Hi,

Recently, I bought a Jamie Oliver ice cream in Parramatta (Sydney) due to all the temporary food stands being available and also the daylight saving has helped people get out to do stuff.

For this scrumptious ice cream, I paid $8 for having the privilege of a Jamie Oliver branded ice cream. Wasn't fantastic or anything to hit home about.

Just wanted to see if anyone had a great ice cream experience and that include gelato as well but have learned my lesson not to call a gelato an ice cream. I know the shop called N2 near Darling Harbour is pretty good due to them making the ice cream on the spot with all the fancy gizmos and they change the menu every week.

Is that a photo of the $8 ice cream? That is daylight robbery.

I totally agree and feel like Jamie sold out long time ago. It was nothing special at all. I personally feel that that a Golden Gaytime is a better option.

BTW, I do not have farmer's hands so the ice cream is actually pretty small.

Didn't you see what you were buying from the many people no doubt queued in front of you?

We went to Jamie Oliver's Italian a couple of times recently in Cambridge- once the restaurant, the other a pizzeria. Neither stick in my mind as amazing. His brand is everywhere now.

I did see people buy the ice cream in the line, but was hoping that the taste may have warranted the price.

Golden gaytime has no flavour anymore :( as does any of the "streets" icecreams

Coles has a coffee/tiramisu flavour in a little tub (400g) that is pretty good

Local restaurant has some kind of peanut butter fudge & honeycomb thing going on with the icecream. Yum

I think it is already. I must have seen 2 or 3 Jamie's restaurants in Covent Garden alone.

That looks majorly disappointing for $8.

Cold Rock with a cookie dough mix-in is my favourite... and it tastes so good I can even forgive them for calling it "cookie dough" :D.

The quandong (native peach) icecream you can get at the conservation hut at the end of the overcliff-undercliff track in the Blue Mountains is an amazing icecream after an amazing bushwalk. Well deserved (you earnt it!!) and well worth every cent.

I like the Weiss sorbet range! Pineapple and lime was the best.. But I think it has been discontinued.

Adelaide has more dessert places than most cities I've been too; they probably couldn't compete

Adelaide has more restaurants/ cafe per person than anywhere in Australia which is probably why they are always closing up

Just had a sour cherry gelato from Meno Diciotto in Sydney. Noice.

They won a few categories at the Royal earlier this year.

Eating Streets brand Cookies & Cream ice cream right now :)

I don't buy tubs of ice cream often, works out expensive when you can eat them in a day or 2.

Ice cream is my #1 food weakness. I rarely buy the tubs from the supermarket as I have no self control when it comes to ice cream and eat it all in one or two sittings.

There's a great little ice cream shop on the esplanade at Palm Cove that has some flavours from Nu Nu and their own house made stuff which is yum too. There's also a local house made ice cream shop at the Daintree which has some great unique FNQ ice cream flavours. Stopped in to get some Daintree vanilla beans on the way too.

If I am to go the commercial ice cream shop stuff then Baskin Robbins is my favourite followed closely by Cold Rock - cake batter ice cream with cookie dough mixed in.
