Maybe she's studying something at uni or Tafe or planning to run a business down the track, I don't know the circumstances.

But $15 an hour (no super and casual hours only) i'm thinking that's not going to support her livelihood for too long if she plans to do that as a career.

What do other people think? I think she's looking to be taken advantage of with that post.

Suppose so. But I think girls and some women don't ask for more money - when they should.

Cash in hand - non-declared income
She doesn't mention qualifications - does she have a Diploma in Childcare or a Working with Children Card or Basic First Aid?
Not all kids are ratbags. Parents go out to a function - $120 cash for feeding and putting a couple of kids to bed at 8.30. Spend the next 4-5 hours watching Foxtel, Netflix or whatever. Win Win for both parent and babysitter. Childcare centre workers only get around $21hr.

Probably no qualifications. But hours are not guaranteed. And $15*5 = $60. Lets assume she does it 5 nights a week. $60*5 = $300. If you earned $300 a day, that's a salary of $78k. But she's only getting 20% of that.

Yep. But if she did it 5 nights a week it's still only $15.6k. That's nothing.

The minimum wage for a 19yo is about $4 ph less than a 21 yo, so perhaps not so bad.

Ahh well. At least on the positive side, she's giving it a go and showing some entrepreneurial spirit.

8hrs - assume she starts at 4.30pm until 12.30am - so $120. No take-home work. Not everyone earns $200hr. If I divide my salary by the actual hours I put in both at work and at home for my job - I don't think I'd fare much better.

My regular wage is $50 per hour, but I'd still be happy to get $15 an hour for a bit of baby sitting!

I don't know what the going rate is but she is probably competing in a market with 15 year olds so needs to be competitive.
Once the kids are in bed it's money for jam. Time to study, relax etc.

I guess the question is; how many hours does she do a week?

$15/hr to look after someone else's kids. Even a dog walker gets more. I'd much rather play with puppies. :p

I get paid $0 an hour to watch netflix so $15 an hour sounds like a deal to me

Baby sitting isn't really 'looking after' - that would be childcare. Babysitting is usually just being in the house while the kids sleep.
