You've gotta be in it to win it!

My swagger includes the following, all low investment strategies with reasonable return
    3 take 5 magazines :D
    Camel back bag
    Property couch book
    Rust protection for car ($500)

Haha I haven't encountered any lottery with such an amazing first prize.
I don't even win in the local fundraising raffle! (and I live in a smallish town!)

I signed up for the automatic buying of $30 RSL Art Union raffle tickets every draw (which is once every 2-3 months) ... I live in hope of winning the $2mil Opera house views pad with furniture, car and gold bullion thrown in ... although I'd probably just take the money :D

Noice to see someone win! Must be my turn next draw

I notice that, everytime I paid money to join these raffles, I've never won, not even once in my life. But if its a free ticket from the company or given from a friend. I've won maybe 3 out of the 5 times they have given me free tickets. I should've begged my friends to give me free tickets to this one as my odds of winning are higher with that strategy. Too late now, maybe the next one. ;)

I'm in the $5 VIP. If it's meant to be I will win it ;) A bit jealous of the beach house win but it probably won't suit what I'm after. Will be quite happy to win the next draw of 3 apartments instead. That will be my property portfolio built for me :p

A colleague bought an IP which was an art union prize originally. The winners had completely trashed it, sold it for much less than it was originally worth to pay debts and were returning to their old suburb to live.

I get the $30 book buyers deal too. Even if I don't win the money goes to a good cause.

Just like many lotto winners.... a sudden windfall but it doesnt mean they instantly learn how to handle money or to own nice things. How could they trash their own place? Drugs? The mind boggles. (They might have missed their "people" too)

And no matter how badly trashed it gets can still be sold for cash profit of at LEAST land value.

But at least it's not Housing Commission that tax payers have to pay to supply AND maintain. Not that all housos are like that I must add for anti discrimination compliance.

A former colleague of mine has won the Boys Town lottery not once but TWICE!

The wins weren't back to back but they were close, only about two or three lotteries apart. He chose a house in Sydney and a house in Melbourne. For the second win he had only bought a small amount of tickets initially and they had called asking if he wanted to buy more so he did and it was one of those tickets that won him the house.

He rented out the Sydney one for a year and then lived in it and rented the Melbourne one for a year then sold it.

He is just a normal guy and you would not even know of these two life changing events. He kept working like normal, sold the cars he won and got an advisor who helped him invest. He didn't tell anyone outside his closest family until he moved into the Sydney house. He said that a lot of his family don't even know about the second win.

    Amazing.
