Hi All The SDA space has completely taken over my life and become an obsession. As part of research I just met more and more people in horrible places and it changed from development to a mission to get people out. So haven't been in here because I've been working till I fall asleep at my desk 7 days a week. We have hundreds of places behind developed around the country so have also been on planes constantly. Second day of my holiday and when I woke up this morning i had to think about where I was, spend so much time in hotels. I do miss learning from people on here and interacting. Am hoping to be mildly less obsessed but also have heaps more staff starting next year.
Sorry to out a dampener on the speculation, but SDA is Specialist Disability Accommodation - purpose built accommodation for people with a disability, with government incentives provided to support the rent of residents. NDIS/SDA Properties - Too good to be true?
I've been following RPI's posts keenly. I had heard about this sort of accommodation before he started writing about it, and I have an interest in the subject, with my wife working in the sector. There appear to be some very nice returns from this sort of accommodation, on top of the feel good factor. But it appears to be something very difficult to get involved with.
Sorry. Too long in a bureaucratic space and everything is acronyms. SDA - Specialist Disability Accommodation under the National Disability Insurance Scheme
