It's all starting to unravel for Trump, more and more insider voices are coming out against him, revealing just how incompetent and dangerous he is. He is not going to go quietly though.

damage already done. .tea party and republicans got what they wanted via an puppet and also have a scapegoat to take the fall when needed.

no.1 tax cut for the 1%
no.2 protect their own industry via trade sactions
    no.3. republican AG
no.4 removed swing vote supreme court justice, replaced by pro republican. so rather than a 4 -4 -1(last dude was swing vote) in supreme court, now republican will dominate supreme court 5-4 if trump get his way..

( IF republican get this, this will be by far the biggest victory in trump admistration era)

imagine a supreme court and Ag that is both pro republican.
republican party will basically do as they wish xD

    It is an interesting piece.

    It's not all negative.

"Don't get me wrong. There are bright stars that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more".

While I disagree with where some of these policies are going (deregulation can go too far where it causes harm; tax reform that benefits the rich hugely more than the middle and lower class etc), these are policy differences only, and just a part of any political debate with different points of view.

    However, this:
"Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. ... At worst he has attacked them outright".

This is where I think the outright antagonism from the people who don't like him comes. Attacks on the press; suggestions that protests should not be allowed; suggestions that the DOJ should do his own bidding. The bad is so bad that any good coming from the administration is completely obscured.

I don't know that there has been a politician in either of our countries who has been so universally loved by his supporters, yet hated so much by the non-supporters. This goes way beyond politics. While many of our prime ministers on either side of the fence have been maligned by detractors, I don't think there has been anywhere near the range of feeling generated by Trump; I think the same would apply in the US. While politics forms a part of this, the depth of feeling and polarisation goes well beyond politics.

There is speculation that the piece was written by Pence himself ... as there were several unusual words used in the article - ie, lodestar - that Pence has used frequently in past speeches.

Somehow, if it were true, I wouldn't be surprised

I've read that about Pence, but I've also read that a person wishing to really be anonymous will consciously try to adapt elements of somebody else's style.

I'm not so sure about Pence getting the job. He makes Trump appear a bit of a lefty, and he knows politics and how to get things done. So long to the rights of women wanting an abortion or LGBT people.

At least there would be somebody stable with their finger on the trigger

I do not want Pence in charge either ... he has the same opinions as Trump, but is more political about them

So someone is actively trying to sabotage an elected president?

This seems very possible. He's been awfully quiet and who else even knows the word "lodestar" exists?

    Interesting
Its quite amazing this story is now dead and gone. Media beat up actually did not work too well.

Have you noticed a pattern ??….. I have.

Also noticed that these leaks work against the left why??

It very simple ..... it undermines democracy …. who the voters elected into office.

Now lets see why did Trump get elected....

    MTR:)

It hasn't gone dead actually- even though most stories, whether favourable or not, will die off naturally. It's just the normal news cycle. People don't want to keep reading about past events unless there's something new. The Trump rally in May this year, and what he said about Sessions in July, and whatever else, is also dead and gone, as is most past news.

It's not dead because Trump just brought it up again.
Trump: 'There is a chance' the New York Times wrote the anonymous op-ed

He hasn't let it go from his head.

He certainly did not get elected via the popular vote. It came down to gerrymandering, the electoral college. I believe (without checking) it came down to a handful of voting districts and something like 76,000 votes.

    Hardly something to crow about.
