Yay! Now just have to wait probably 10 years for the mindset in the peninsular to change from "why's my rent going up? It never has before!" to something approaching an area waking from a 100 year sleep.

Yes - I wondered that too. Some suburbs also listed in both the growth and plateau sections.

Then you have Birkdale as a hot spot (you been in someones ear Gockie) but the closer coastal suburbs to stall....pprrrrffffttttt

Yeah... I don't actually trust the hotspotting tbh.

Another stage being developed at the Brendale industrial estate.

    https://www.theurbandeveloper.com/brendales-152-million-industrial-estate-fast-track/

Also - apparently the Moreton Bay region is QLD's strongest economy.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said construction on the next stage of New Base reinforced the Moreton Bay Region’s status as Queensland’s strongest economy

( will qualify that as politician-speak but the presence of IKEA in North Lakes adds some evidence towards the claim )

There is another petrol station being built on South Pine Rd near the power station and Bradford. Given there are so many already, you would have to expect suitable demand to make it worthwhile.

Strathpine - Interested in any feedback from locals or people who know the area well (I'm looking at buying a 3 bed house there). Is there any difference between the east/west of Gympie Road i.e is one side more desirable than the other? Thanks

    Propertyman,

First post. I have just bought in Strathpine and purchased on the east side of Gympie. I felt as i toured the area that the east side seemed more inviting and had a much better feel than the west side. I'm definitely not an expert and know there's bound to be good and bad pockets in each side - would suggest you tour the area and see things for yourself!

    Good Luck
    Steve

Thanks @Steven_S for the feedback. I'm looking to get on the ground up there in the next few weeks. How did you find the competition for properties there?

At the time (bought in August) I inspected 6 properties. Of which, 5 were by private appointment and I was the only one viewing. The 6th property was open publicly and had < 6 parties through. I ended up buying this one without a competing party submitting an offer.

But to me this is the interesting bit:

Since then, I've given the house a makeover and when the initial open for inspection was advertised (about a month ago) i had 6 parties register, 4 of which submitted applications, and 1 of which was ultimately chosen. And while reviewing applicants from the first batch, a further 11 parties registered to view. This surprised me. Not really sure what the norm is for the area tho?
