For me..., it has to show significant growth within 7 years.... 15 years or longer... Like watching paint dry....

If this is the best the state govt can come up with, are we stuffed?

*Don't laugh you smug little sydneysiders. You get labor govts sometimes, too.

I agree @Gockie. I want to see significant growth in a short period also as timing the market is as important as time in the market for what I'm trying to achieve.

And the Moreton Bay region (predominantly southern Moreton Bay areas) will be one of those areas!

I bought in Newport all up at 430k and have a rental appraisal of $630-650/week so looking forward to when I build and rent that out.. Already some good growth..very high chance it'll be a PPOR in a couple years though as I'm expanding my business up to Moreton Bay as well :)

There's also something big happening up there that's a bit of a secret that I won't be telling anyone until after my family buy in. Very very big for the area though :). Go Moreton Bay!

Yes, we too suffer flat periods... most recently between 2004-2008.... 11-12 was pretty flat too

I've also found a new 7 storey development in Kallangur lodged for DA consisting of 48 x 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The area is set to change for sure. I'm watching to see if owners see the new value in their land with the new planning scheme now in place. I've seen a couple of sites on realcommercial.com.au Land/Development Property For Sale in Kallangur, QLD 4503 (Page 1) - realcommercial.com.au which are larger development sites with the ability to build to several stories. They are starting to ask big money for these types of sites!

I know! I Know. It's the railway across the Hornibrook that never...oh, that's right. That's being done now. Hmmm...
I know! It's the bridge to the islands. Oh, that's right we have to wait another couple of years before bringing that one back out of the cupboard to get more southerners buying mangroves plantations.
Hmm, maybe It's the new F1 raceway around up-market Kippa Ring (oxymoron) and round the hospital?
I KNOW!! The artificial wave-maker off Scarborough Beach so those sunshine coast surfers don't have to go as far!

Lol. I agree - I've got skin in the peninsular so definitely hoping/expecting/planning.

Putting away the flippancy, I'm definitely keen to hear from @ej89 - when possible - what's happening. I'm not local.
