    Hi everyone :)

Introducing myself after a PC wormhole and honestly, I'm more overwhelmed than ever!

As it stands, I have zero skin in the game. How I go about changing that remains unseen and I'm grateful for all of your contributions to the platform.

Look forward to asking horrendously green questions and guidance from this community.

You've taken the first step. Now keep building on it. Imo there are 3 things essential to maximize your chances to succeed.

1, You need financial capacity to invest. (deposits and serviceability)

    2. You need some good knowledge to start. Then build on it over time. Tons of info on here, books, etc. Most people don't spend much time on this and well.. results can vary greatly over time from the educated to the 'i'll buy a HnL in woop woop because the REA said it was good" type folks. Don't be one of them.

    3. You need the right mindset conducive to wealth creation. Imo this is absolutely essential if you wish to build a large portfolio over time.

    Welcome :)

This is where I wonder if it's possible for me but I refuse to believe it isn't possible for everyone? Not a high income earner so a first mistake could be devastating.

    I will absorb like sponge.

Plenty of folks on average incomes are able to build portfolios over time. Is it possible for absolutely everyone regardless of their level of income? The truthful answer is no imo. If someone earns a very low wage, has kids and is struggling as is.. its very unlikely they are going to build a portfolio unless they change their situation first.

Are there some illegal options that we might be under selling?

To add you need a great team of people. So you need a great broker to help once you ready to figure out what you can borrow first.
Read and learn first then decide in little step, just buy one add cosmetic renovation if you can etc...
Little steps before we walk, run and leap!

The lower your income, the harder it becomes, but it's not impossible. The question you need to ask yourself is 'how can I do this', not 'can I do this'. There's often short term pain for long term gain. The biggest hurdle will be mindset.
