    Some things i might consider.

    1. Curtains gotta go and replace
    2. A nice warm or sharp rug for the living area.
    3. Sexy wallpaper for a feature wall in living room.
    3. Some sexy artwork.
    4. Light fitting change to a more trendier one.
    5. If you wanted to go all out you could have some kind of wood feature on the tv wall to frame a wall hung flat screen :D
    6. Trendier furniture with glass side tables and modern lamps to match.

Remove all fittings and furniture and restart. Start with curtains and use neutral. None co-ordinates. Avoid timber items as the floor dominates and is cheaper to leave. Art - Bin. If AirBnb consider a local scenic attraction. Larger.

Neutral fabrics. Cushiosn for colour - coordinated. Repaint - Looks dull but that could be curtains. Ditch the light fitting. The downlights give most light. Softer white light overhead would be better...Dimmed ? Single lamp for reading - spotlight ? . No table lamps as they fall and damage. Kids pull them down.

Wall behind TV needs more....A integrated TV unit and bookcase / shelving / cupboards maybe. Small sound system / radio etc with a single Harmony remote Chromecast etc.
