    Hi All
Be interesting to get some feedback/thoughts on how you think the marketing/advertising may impact on this forum, will the forum change in terms of what we are able to comment on as members??

Pop ups selling all sorts of stuff, I don't have an issue whatsoever with this, but do you think it may change the tone the feel of this forum?? Time will tell I guess, but curious, anyone thought about this??

    MTR:)

To be honest, I hadn't noticed the little adverts at the bottom of the page until I read this thread.

If it bothers you a great deal, you can pay $10/mth and get them removed. I haven't got any pop-ups though, just the banner ads.

I think by now most people suffer from 'Banner Blindness' anyway

i agree. i think it may be like the mags, where its about reading the content not the spruiking.
although it would be nice to see familiar names and their ads rather than outsiders.

If you are getting popup ads thats typically due to malware on your PC. The ads here are all inline only afaik.

Banner ads are pretty standard on just about any forum these days. It gets annoying then they are at the top, the bottom, the side and everywhere but I don't think that will happen here.

Very cleansing to not see lots of sigs for once.

Me too. It's nice to see that extra bit of information about someone to help remind you who they are.

I don't like the name on the side either. It takes up too much room, so that each post takes up a lot of room. I just think the other layout was, well, better. I liked the little captions under peoples names instead of "new member", and I liked the sigs. I liked seeing the diverse things that people did outside of property via their websites, and the different quotes.

I'm sure we'll see more of these features come over the coming weeks/months. There wasn't much time for Sim to get this site up and running and functioning enough for people to join.

I also miss them. Was nice to have the info about what people are up to, how their investment goals are going, read motivational quotes etc.

I miss the sigs too - they make people less anonymous.
