That's a good question - I'll add it to the FAQ.

In short: yes - go here https://www.propertychat.com.au/community/account/privacy

Down the bottom, uncheck the "Start conversations with you" to disable it completely, or change the dropdown to say "people you follow only" to limit conversations to people who you yourself have followed and then update your list of people you follow to only contain those people you are happy to receive private conversations from.

Hi Simon, I just signed up and trying to PM people but can't see the option anywhere?
Have screenshotted your page as an example (appreciate you may have PM's turned off however)

As an anti-spam measure, new members cannot send PMs until they have been around a while and posted enough for us to validate their authenticity.

Hi Simon, what's the criteria on duration of membership and quantity of messages to validate authenticity of a user? Just needed to PM a member but the conversation button seemed to have disappeared thanks

You can ask on the thread concerned for the member to PM you if they wish to. You will be able to reply.

I recall some minimum number of posts applied. Its to stop one off registration to spam members

See Simons post concerning this above

Hi all, I have also recently joined and would like to PM others. Can anyone advice the duration of time required for new members before the PM option becomes available? Thanks.
