overnight TAH and TTS finally announced a much rumoured merger of equals

i hold TAH ( bought @ $2.50 in Oct. 2011 ) and had always had TTS on the watch list ., but never found an attractive price .

now to me the merger deal looks nice for the TTS holder ( at least until the market opened and TTS spiked )

so TTS doesn't want to play yet ( could be a year before the merger completes , so am still hopeful )

    is there another way ???

    i also hold CIE ( bought in Dec. 2015 @ 99c ) ...

so i see CIE is a little cheaper today

TOP 10 STOCK HOLDINGS WITHIN THE CIE INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO
    CODE STOCK .. WEIGHT
    ASX ASX Limited 6.5%
BEN Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Ltd 5.9%
BOQ Bank of Queensland Limited 5.7%
    TTS Tatts Group Limited 5.1%
    TAH TABCORP Holdings Limited 4.6%
    DUE Duet Group 3.9%
    JBH JB Hi-Fi Limited 3.6%
    SKI Spark Infrastructure Group 3.5%
    PPT Perpetual Limited 2.6%
    VCX Vicinity Centres 2.6%

The top 10 positions total 44% of the portfolio – at the date of this report the portfolio has 40 stocks.

so i bought some extra CIE

not a perfect solution , but a nice way to increase my exposure to both TAH and TTS ( for me )

since currently i DRP both CIE and TAH it even suits me better

but don't panic i will be looking to add extra CIE ( and buy into TTS ) as opportunities occur .

apart from my share activities , i have retired from that activity be DO appreciate events like the Melbourne Cup , where every bet placed is a ( tiny ) winner for me .

but life is about risk , even crossing the road can be a gamble .

after Cyprus not even banks are safe ( risk-free )
