How to remove strata managing company

    Purchased a factory unit in a block of 6 in Bayswater WA. Last year 3 units were purchased and the other 3 units are still for sale. The selling agent is the strata manager as well. The first AGM is next month, do we go to the agm first then try to remove the strata manager or try to remove the strata manager before the agm?Does the agm give the strata manager another 12 months?

    I have found out now that before all the 3 units were purchased the strata signed up all the units for a 5 year contract. The strata managing agent is the same as the selling agent. The selling agent owned all the 6 units and still owns 3 units in the block. I'm thinking now we might have to pursue the a case with the State Administrative Tribunal. In the offer and acceptance there is nothing indicating this 5 year term.

    Did you get a copy of the agreement with your sale documents? Have a good read and see if it is all in order or if there is a loop hole that allows the agreement to be broken.

    5 years is a longer than usual term.

    Document in contract only states that they are the strata company and who the contact is. Nothing relating to the 5 year contract length.

    What is in the WA Strata Act regarding the initial period and appointment of the strata Manager?
