I often have a gander at the usual RE sites with search filters for terms such as unique; converted; unusual; gothic; church; to try and find some homes that are a little different to the norm.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on finding a unique home other than building. Perhaps there are agents or websites that focus on this?

Not as far as I'm aware.
Try key words in your search like quirky, boutique, bohemian, etc

I was lucky, I followed the open home signs in my neighbourhood when driving to my sister's pool party. As a result, we bought this, and I couldn't be happier! :)

Try "architect" (as in "architect designed") or "builder's own"

It was a fun, but partner was complaining why we need to go see the open houses... Lol
Now we own what is said the be "the oldest dwelling in the East Epping HCA" (heritage conservation area)

No risk of neighbourhood shock since we lived in the area already.

He isn't always super keen to see every open home, but i'm thinking we were both glad I had control of the steering wheel that day.

I saw that one and loved it!
Ideally hoping for VIC but that’s the kind of properties I’m looking out for. Would love to hear more if you go for it.

Google using keywords...Follow some listings and media articles and learn the words they use. Then use same in Domain etc

ie renovator will yield loads of property that need work. Mortgage will cover mortgagee sales. Yield and multi can be used for high yield or multiple income properties.
