How do I do this easily? Have tried via media and upload file but neither recognising the file- it's a standard .doc or .docx....... Have a feeling it's going to be a simple answer but I've had a big day and just want to know quickly what I'm doing wrong

Why not save it as a PDF and upload that?

For the record - I prefer people don't attach Word documents for several reasons:

    1) not everyone has Word installed (I don't - although I have viewers so I can still read them)

    2) Word documents (especially for older versions) can contain worms and viruses so it's not a good format for sharing information (although if you have good antivirus and anti-malware, it shouldn't really be a problem)

    3) PDF is generally a much more portable format for sharing information

But yes, you can get around the restrictions on uploading Word documents by zipping them first - I'd prefer you didn't, but I won't forbid you from doing so if you really insist.
