    I'm semi vegetarian.

I eat the meat of animals that are vegetarian.

Being frugal is something I really like - you understand the value of money, and want to use it well.

The person described in the OPs first post isn't being frugal like that - he's trying to fight another person for a share of the money, it seems. That's selfish and manipulative. It depends on the energy with which it is done, but that can really bother me when people value small amounts of money so highly over human relations.

I hope someone pulls him up on it before some poor staff member can't take it anymore and takes a dump in his meal...

I just heard that my mates mate spent AUD $300 for 3 weeks holiday in Thailand excluding hotel and airfare. That includes a van we hired with driver for 1 day and entry costs for a few venues.

Except I have tastebuds as well and manage fine. Honestly, it's worth it.

There are quite a few things in life more important than taste preference :)

Probably not so easy in the amounts @pinkboy or athletes need. I do know there was a high profile US athlete who went vegan but for the most part it's hard to get the fuel athletes need from a vegan diet.
I'm an omnivore - love veggies but love meat too. I'll happily eat a tofu dish because I like it, but I like having the option to eat anything and everything.
