Just wondering how much it cost to refresh kitchen if using a handyman?
    - paint splashback tiles
    - paint bench top
    - paint cabinet and replace handles (I provide the handles)

Quoted $1300 incl. GST I think material will be like, $300? So $1000 labour?

Get a second quote. But if it was near where I live it sounds like a fun thing to try myself. Just go off youtube videos.
    Ps. You are a painter....

It's in Brisbane, I'd love to do it myself too  then I think about the flights + accommodations + annual leave taken + risk of screwing it up = more than $1k

And depends how big the kitchen is. Any idea how long it would take for that quote?

That isn't an easy or quick job. All surfaces would need to be sanded to allow new paint to adhere. And I'd say at least two coats (maybe three). Sounds ok to me.

The splashback tile ended up being replaced for $500, the benchtop get painted (waiting for the bill... I think it's in the vicinity of $500-600). i didn't go with the $1300 as there were communications mix up which they ended up pulling out (key wasn't in the in the property and PM didn't bother telling them that there's already trade at the place)
