You may need to crystallise the terms of referance to get a meaningful answer.

Your current request is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string.

For the room costs, you need to give these specific details about what type of construction you want:

    On slab or stumps?
    What type of cladding?
    What exact size room?
    Location (state, city)
    Access ( easy or not)

    Also:
Do you need to demolish part of a wall to allow access from the house? And will that require removal of bricks and/ or installation of a beam or lintel?

The last time I did home reno/ext was many years ago so build costs would have been 30% or more by now. There are websites that can provide estimate build cost per m2 but it's only a guide.

Do you need a new slab, frame & truss & new roof? Back house is accessible? Steep or flat land? Soil removal? Brick finish? Size? So many variables ...etc...DA?

What budget do you have in mind and the size of extension and people here might able to tell you if doable?

Forgot to add the only cost savings would be if you have good mates as builders or tradies or you're lucky to find ethical builders :) IME

Why not get a builder out to site to quote. That gives you a ballpark figure to work with.

This post by @Joynz needs to be answered to allow any sort of ballpark figure.

Depends where the house is too.
