When I was a teenager I could read three to four books a week, every week. I don't read anymore instead I have changed to using the internet for forums like this and researching topics of interest.

    Hey.
What kind of material are you going through over the last 12 months?
Where do you get your audiobooks from?

I read nightly - nothing like a good half hour before I go to sleep, of whatever recently tickles my fancy (and this varies widely).... at the moment it's "When the laughter stops- Robin Williams"

I reckon those radio shows, like most commercial television, are intellectually poisonous ;)

Audible, iTunes, Library, YouTube mostly. I'm also in an education program and get a book sent out every month.

Lots of stuff across a wide range of topics, mostly aimed at either developing new–or refining existing–skills, or becoming a better person. Business, investment, communication, networking, thinking big, managing time, being kind, enhancing happiness.

As well as audiobooks, there's a heap of good material in podcasts, all for free. There is an Australian property investing podcast which was going for quite a while- the last episode, #104, appears to be May. But I also listen to Ted talks, History of English, science podcasts and startup shows. It's great for driving.

There may well be a lot of audiobooks on CD in your local library. Ours has a very big range.

The API podcast is sporadic. They do them occasionally when they have a story they want to promote in a current issue.

The same bloke (Kevin Turner) does his own weekly show called Real Estate Talk.

That depends entirely on what sort of genre you like. Adventure, suspense, biography, romance, sci fi, ...

Watching with interest, I need something.

Have you read that book with the escaped Aussie criminal who slums it in India (I forget the name)

I read daily - but only ever fiction.

Typically it is either to pass the time while trying to get my daughter to sleep (anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour) ... but also at the end of the day when trying to get myself to sleep - I've found reading fiction is a great way of relaxing my brain and getting to sleep.

I'll read until I find myself reading the same sentence multiple times or my eyes feel like they want to close and then I'll put the book down and will be asleep within 30 seconds. Sometimes this takes less than 5 minutes and I'll only read a page or two, sometimes it can be hours (although that's typically only if there's something else going on like I am sick, or I've had a disturbed sleep looking after the kids or something).

I can't read non-fiction at night, it only serves to stimulate my brain such that I simply can't get to sleep. I think too much.

Just finished reading The Hobbit the other day and am a few days into The Lord of the Rings. I've read them both multiple times when I was younger - but it's been quite a few years and I've forgotten a lot of the detail. I'm a huge fan of the movies - so it's quite interesting comparing the differences and understanding the decisions the screenwriters had to make to convert them into a workable movie format. I'm not one to be "precious" about books being made into movies - unless they simply do a really bad job of it.

I bought my wife a Kobo eReader when we ran out of bookshelf space (and don't have anywhere to store boxes of books!), but she's never used it (doesn't get time to read - too busy looking after the kids), while I've now got a collection of over 50 eBooks I've read over the past 2 years - keeping to my average of one book per fortnight.

At least a book a week but less than one a day. My reading is almost exclusively business related but I do regularly read biographies too.

In the last month, I have read:
    - Knowing Mandella, John Carlin
    - Creativity Inc, Ed Catmull
    - Investment Biker, Jim Rogers which was a follow on from
    - Street Smarts, Jim Rogers
    - Myth Busting Economics, Stephen Koukoulis (excellent read)
    - Mortgages Made Easy, Bruce Brammall
    - Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen

Often, when you buy a kindle book, you can choose to also buy the narration. Supposedly you can swap between them.
