I would think unless that's a complete unit that just turns into a ceiling plate , but I think that will come apart .

If I am you I will replace these with latest LED downlight, retailers like Rexel Middy's and L&H sell to general public check them out.

Get a electrician to replace those.

That might be longer term answer, we like fans too so fan/light combo could be best.

So, a call was made to the seller, who said pull it real hard. And hung up. Then I went in to the shop with pic, and shop man said ..... 'oh that is the nimbus 500' or some such thing.

Then he explained the whole spring loaded thing, he also said what @standtall said. It worked.

We managed to get them reassembled, not quite as good as they were..... but close.

Was it a LED inside, I have a similar light and was told it was a throw away by the supplier ?

 

The globe is a ring globe, it has a LED feel about it, lasted approximately 3 years though, so i think that is not LED. DOn't they last a little longer than that?

If it's a ring fluoro, it'd last about 3 yrs between visits to your proctologist.
