    Thanks Dave
I am so glad that you survived, I don't think many would understand the beast, it's also your mental health that suffers.

It nearly cost me my marriage and my husband had a breakdown, on a positive we survived and as they say "what does not kill you makes you stronger"

We're both originally from Melbourne. So much more to see and do so close by.

Slightly cheaper (food&fuel) to live here too.

Well done MTR. Kudos to you and your hubby for sticking it out and making it through the horrible times together.

I nominated 51-60 hours per week. I have a full time job (40 hours) and I would spend between 6 and 8 hours per week teaching the flute. On top of that is any property stuff - answering queries, paperwork for leases, answering emails, chasing up stuff like rent and tradies, organising end of lease cleans, washing linen when tenants move out, etc. This varies wildly from week to week but I know we do spend a fair amount of spare time on it, over the year. So for example this weekend we have three lots of tenants moving out - that's eight doonas, eight doona covers, 16 sets of sheets, eight blankets, eight mattress protectors, 16 towels, 16 tea-towels etc that I'm washing and attempting to get dry.

I probably do 5-10hrs a week for clients and 5-10hrs a week on my own projects. Plus a silly amount of time talking property on here

It really varies a lot of where thing are at in their stage, some days will be 8hrs, some a lot less.

But it's a darn sight less than my old corporate job managing a team where I'd leave at 7am and get home around 6 and the little 2 go to bed at 7 so I'd see them for an hour a day. It's been about 13mths since I left and my stress levels are down, my kids are loving it and so am I.

Wow, a sincere thanks for sharing your story :)

Brave act, and an inspiring outcome.

There is a lot of wisdom to be gained from this post.

Particularly, what a person can do with a strong enough reason. :)

    Thanks again for sharing.

Actual work most weeks would be about 6-10 hours per week. Strange, I remember years ago working very hard for 15-20 hours per day often 7 days per week and going broke. These days I pay others to work hard while I drink coffee and watch them. Much better.

Im a stay at home dad, im always on!! 24x7 i never rest.... no, seriously im ******! send help!o_O
hours wise is tricky, i didnt go for whatever 24x7 less 5 hrs sleep is. We'll say 10-12 /day, the wifey works night shift, that way works 4 shifts a week rather than 5 and we get the roster going well we get 6 days off to explore the wild west:cool:
the little one has decided to grow a bunch of teeth so he's pretty much up every 2hrs. so its all fun. once thats sorted i should be on easy street:cool:.... one thing with running on empty you seem to push harder and keep going. in a baby book or somewhere it says "sleep, promotes sleep" and i think the opposite also applies. We both just keep going. I should be making family calendars, something on the list about health insurance:oops: and other a bunch of other "duties"o_O but im here instead.... im dead in the morning:D

37 hrs per week officially for my day job and I try to keep it around that. Property searches, forum research (here) and all the paperwork etc on 7 ips must make my working hours around 50 pw. You can see why a few of us on here are working so hard to eventually pull the plug on the daily grind.
