Lol, omg those were the days! We could have done with those in uk schools where it was bloomin' freezing.

Kudos for the red stitching on your stockings, love it :)

    1. Base jumping
    2. Counting crane
    3. Frying my brain (literally)
    4. Finding cheap parking
    5. Avoiding the office
    It's one of the above.

Our primary school winter uniform was a tunic with either a skivvy or long sleeve shirt underneath. One unseasonably warm winters day and the teachers made us do this activity were we all had to run around in all directions whole in our uniforms. Out of all the boys and girls I was the winner but I was wearing a thick skivvy underneath the heavy tunic. I was struggling to take either the tunic or skivvy off in the middle of the activity....

    1. Not high enough to base jump.
    2. Not that many cranes anymore. Most of the buildings have already gone up.
    3. I'm not surprised given the temperature.
    4. Possibly.
    5. You didn't have to travel 40min to get away from your office.

After serious contemplation, I think you were up there frying your brain? Am I right?

When we were in Year 12 the girl's principal went overseas and whoever replaced her allowed the stockings to be "optional". I've mentioned my doting, loving mother. She worked in the Science Dept and being a stickler for Traditions, there was no way her daughter was going to wear white socks instead of stockings. Fortunately she had bought a car and I too was driven to school, so I used to wear a sports uniform as many days a week as I could possibly manage. Not bad for the unco geek who didn't play sport ;). I was prone to darning my stockings orange or lime green. Great minds think alike.

Not a rebel at all, just so disorganised that I never seemed to have black thread. ;)

We laugh these days at my first rebellious act. In grade 8 I thought "stuff it, everyone else drops their lunch wrappers. I'm going to drop mine." I did it once, got caught, and had to spend the rest of the afternoon picking up papers. I was so annoyed that I did it once and got caught.

And yes, I was very lucky when I got a lift to school, but only on the days we didn't go to our shop first and open up with my mother, and then catch a bus, or go to gym practice on the 6.30 am train. The walk to the train was horrible, lugging a big heavy bag. Walking home from the train was worse, a very long walk and uphill.

Or we would get the bus to the shop after school most days to work in it and close it up with mum. So, being driven wasn't that often I guess.

Gosh I hated school with a passion (except the gymnastics).

    1. Not enough wind (or inclination to jump off buildings)
    2. Liverpool boom is over but high rise is scarce compare to Parramatta, Hornsby, Chatswood, Hurtsville
    3. The inspection wasn't temperature sensitive (I wear a hat) - something else to fry the noggin.
    4. There's a council carpark nearby but I prefer secure and aircond
    5. I rarely go to the office

    4am and still 30deg

Do those whirly bird things do anything? ? Now might be the coolest time to put one up.
I also noticed solar ones which extract more air but only when the sun's out:cool:

Otherwise maybe just a soaker house running during the day could help

I was still sitting on the front step with the animals at about 1:30 am, sweating. Feel like I've had minimal sleep too.

    Nice.
Apparently it was 48C here yesterday.
And they hold the festival at this time because it's Elvis's birthday, I just found out. Still think they should hold it later on.
