I said property developer but that is a narrow definition. I tend to buy as is where is and do something with the site/or house. Either renovate or rebuild. I also manage and maintain my properties. So could be any definition depending on the day.

How long have you been doing it full time? How long from when you started to when you went full time? (Assuming you worked a "normal" job prior)

Rode the mother of all booms in Perth, started in 2001 and by the end of the boom 2006 was able to give away my day job.

Thanks, I don't believe we have not seen a boom in Australia that lasted this long - 6 years?

I think Syds recent boom went for 3 years, market is now turning.

Can you imagine what you can achieve in 6 years of BOOM.

Also when I was investing we had lo doc and no doc loans/product, which basically meant if you had equity you went to your mortgage broker and told them how much money you needed and they applied the income accordingly, I know someone who declared $750K income pa who was on around $70K.

Crazy days, wont see finance this easy ever again.

Just wanted to thank everyone for participating in this thread. 70% of participants see themselves primarily as property investors. I guess that's fitting for a property investment forum :)
