    Hi all,

I'm Sydney-based but have been doing a fair bit in QLD for a few years, so I know certain parts of Logan and Ipswich fairly well now.

I now want to start researching Perth because I think the next 6-12 months could be an opportune time to buy, and because I want a new challenge. I've never been to Perth and don't know anything about it, so will be starting from scratch.

I just wondered what resources everyone here uses when researching a new market? Off the top of my head I've listed a few below:
    ABS
    Realestate.com.au/invest
    Profile.id
    HTW Reports
    YIP Suburb Search
    CoreLogic Home Property Value Index

+ Once I narrow down what areas I want to target, obviously visiting + talking to agents is another good one. Plus reviewing the local council website.

Any recommendations for tracking infrastructure projects etc?

Apart from statistical researches I've got a couple more to add:
    - Search on the forum for the suburb name - most likely someone would've asked about it before
    - Identify & talk to other investors who have invested there previously to get the reasons behind why they invested there

    Good luck!

    Cheers,
    David
