As an example, see this listing:
    41 Oak Street Preston Vic 3072 - House for Sale #122767870 - realestate.com.au
How do you go about developing this property?
What I'm trying to get at, and its not clear from the photo, but this house is joined to the house to the left of it. So, what are the rules/ regulations for demolition the house in question, while the other one (other half to the left) remains as a house? Can it be done?

Done relatively frequently in older suburbs. Have seen it done in Prahran.

Dan Murphys in Caulfield had a "Half house" in their carpark for years. Clearly one owner wouldn't sell. Will have to see if its still there on way home this evening.
