    Hi

I am in need of getting a written declaration from a neighbour.

My council have asked me to get a written declaration from my neighbour 'that they are aware of my application to remove a tree' which borders our fence lines.

I have knocked on their door 10 times, and hand delivered 3 letters, all occassions no one is home, and they have failed to reply in writing by ph or by email....

    What do I do....

    Do they actually live there?

What do council say when you told them about this?

I'd give a statement to council that you've knocked ten times and hand delivered three letters and you may find they take that on board and give you permission. That's what I'd do anyway.

Over what time frame have you tried to contact them?
People do go away, often for months at a time.
Are there lights on at night?
Any sign of activity, lawn mowing etc?
Have you talked to other nearby neighbours who may know what is happening?
