How do I find out who manages a property?

We've got a property that's rented out in the street to a bunch of bogans that party loudly, swear loudly and are currently doing doughnuts on a quad bike in their backyard.
I'd like to complain to the PM, but I don't know who it is. Any idea how I could find out?

    Hi @spludgey

The quad bike issue is likely something the police can address as @D.T. has suggested. Depending on time of day and/or severity of noise such as music and swearing, the police may be able to address that too.

The property manager should be able to issue a breach notice for disturbing the peace of the neighbours (and threatening the safety of neighbours by doing doughnuts on the quad bike in the backyard... it is reasonable to fear they'll smash through the fence and run over your child.

As for who manages the property the neighbours might recall which company had a rental advertising board at the property at the last tenancy changeover. You never know your luck... there could be a photo of the rental ad board on google maps street view.

KSOU is a reasonably useful free tool that does show some rental information on its "Rent Price" tab. Look up the offending address as follows:

Otherwise someone with access to real estate data for your state could look it up and see if there are records for who manages it. I see you are based in NSW so perhaps @Propertunity or @Jacque could help...

    Hope this helps :)

Um, not that I want to stereotype anybody, but it could be remotely possible that @datto has some experience in this area, not only in (possibly, but in no way casting any aspersions...) the training and promoting, but also in the expertise of suppression of such activities, he may be able to (possibly) provide some advice.

And, given that property damage may be a breach of your tenant's lease, perhaps this should be addressed by your agent, or you, if you are renting privately.

Alternatively, if your property is insured, and other neighbours have subsequently developed deep-seated issues with pyro-mania...well, you know...

I'm assuming you have tried to put the address into google already?

I could visit them by first walking 2 staffies past the house. I'll be wearing a flanny and ugg boots and sporting a mullet.

When I make eye contact with them I'll mutter "know where I can get on?" They'll obviously invite me in for a session.

I'll then demonstrate my quad bike skills up and down the street and culminate with a 180 degree turn on their front lawn that flattens the letter box.

I then make an offer to pay one weeks rent as compensation for the damage. They'll then tell me who the PM is and I'll pass it on. If only life could be this simple.

You can try calling the local property management agent ask them if they manage it and if not they may help you find out, you can find these things on RPData, Pricefinder, Rent price (these are property Sites) I wish you luck

Yeah, and when they refuse your offer of compensation, ring Pizza Hut and get 20 Pizzas delivered to their place, just after ringing the electricity company to inform them that they are moving out, and need the supply cut.

And if you're in a really bad mood, get a truck load or two of sand dumped on their front lawn (on a COD basis...)

    Genuine.

It wouldn't feel right without real uggies. Be like driving an old Volvo around. You get puzzled looks when you tell people it's a 5 cylinder engine. It's just not right.
