How do I delete pics embedded in a post hosted from another site (hotlinking)

    If I upload my photos to a photo sharing site like imgur.com and use the direct link of that pic to embed it into a post on this forum, shouldn't the pic be deleted from my post if I delete the image from imgur.com? I have deleted some hotlinked pics from imgur.com but they are still showing on this forum. Does the forum create it's own copy of the image from an external site once it's been hotlinked?

    Yes, the forum software caches the images to prevent broken links if the source is removed.

    If you need to remove an image from a post that you can no longer edit yourself, you should report it and request the moderators make the edit (you'll need to justify the request too).

    OK thanks, I have reported the 2 images and hope to get them removed due to privacy issues concerning the owner of the property
