Checking out new areas in last few days and was stuck by the number of a certain type of shop in one suburb . Tattoo studio's .

Seemed to correlate quite well .

Logan has three . Two on whole of Sydney's norther beaches and there's one on the whole of Sydney's north shore . Studios per head of population would probably be even more telling

I'm not a fan of tattoos but they're not just for bogans these days - don't most hipsters sport a tat?

I think he means three in each suburb of Logan.

@See Change - Sign of the times, Lane Cove's just had a tatt parlour open in the village, sign of the times. You can raise the hurdles for entry into a suburb but you can't stop them being employed and earning enough to rent in the area.

    It goes without saying @Bran

The main thing to look for is the type and standard of cars, mostly.

Also look for general levels of community decay; houses that look stuffed, car wrecks in front yards, gardens out of control and stuffed, rubbish and crap everywhere in the general neighborhood..

@Bayview - that doesn't help much, these ones drive AMG Mercs, Audis, Cayennes and ride Colnago and Bianchi carbon fibre bikes.

Tattoo shops may have been a good indicator 10-20 years ago but not anymore, since every bloke and his dog have sleeves nowadays..

Fast food store are a good one, levels of education correlate with eating habits..

Indicators of "Boganism" change.I remember a time( before use of Bogan term became widespread) that we considered anything west of the railway line along the North Shore was too "boganish " to consider.

Good thread. Nice to see the greenery in places you would not have expected to find it.

This is why the north shore will always be the north shore. I think a few billion dollar bridges have been built since these dandy beliefs became established.

You'd need to charge that to cover the; "putting up with effwits" factor.
