    My speling is generaly egselent.

    However, I get slightly annoyed when I read a post I wrote and it has a spelling mistake... and it is past the time allowed to edit :(

    I will note though, that my spelling has always been great.....but the last few years, I seem to be a bit dyslexic. I will type things around the wrong way, or say the right word as I type it, but actually type a different one.:eek: I usually catch it, but sometimes not.

    For instance, in a previous thead, I typed the word negligible, but what I really meant was negligent. Of course, @geoffw picked me up on it.

    Perhaps the doctors were negligible?

    I think smartphones are making spelling appear worse. It's far easier to make a mistake on a small virtual keyboard, and autocorrect can amplify a small mistake. That doesn't necessarily excuse bad spelling, it can just make it worse.

    And now predictive text can make it even worse. Your phone anticipates a word which is totally different fron the word I'm intending.

    This seems to be non standard on android phones- different brands can behave quite differently. My iPad is far better for long messages.

    I had huge problems because my phone refused to learn the name of my last boss. It's an uncommon name of only three letters. So I often sent him messages with his name changed completely.

    On the whole I think the bulk of PCers are not too bad. I've not read many posters on here who HAVEN'T slipped up a letter here or there in a frenzy of typing.

    If you want to see some cringe worthy spelling and grammar, go read some Facebook posts for an hour. Yikes!

    I'm pedantic. Errors few and far between, and always word swaps or missed keys rather than not knowing how to spell a word.

    Ridiculous is the most commonly misspelled word on PC. There is no 'e'.

    I think lose is the most commonly misspelled word on PC. I will loose my mind if I see lose spelled "loose" again! :)

    Not to bard. My pet peeves are usually missing words after I'm rewording a sentence, and the autocorrect. There are times where the autocorrect suggesting email address and insert it without permission o_O

    Definitely don't insert it without permission.

    Spell check is its own reword.

    Harry Potter made mistakes when he didn't spell check.

    I tend to leave words out and then have to go back cos makes no sense whatsoever.o_O
