    It's pretty annoying.
I usually go in about 20mins after the 'start' time.

Had a similar discussion with my FIL a couple of weeks ago - has a phone bill with Southwestern, and the only place he can pay it in person is a couple of suburbs away, apparently.

The phone bill is virtually nothing as you can imagine...two old folks locked in a yester-year world of pension and "less"...constantly turn off lights and heaters and never use the phone, and so on.

He's grizzling because he has to make this inconvenient drive all the way over to pay the bill...

I suggested to set-up the online payment for him (yes, they do have a computer and know how to use it - emails mostly - unlike many oldies); not interested..too much hassle, doesn't trust online accounts and so forth.

We also suggested to pay 3 months in advance and make less trips...he might do that one.

@Bayview - There might even be a service where the cheque can be delivered to the company's business address in a few days for the cost of an envelope and $1 handling fee.

    Oh - Australia Post.
