After seeing a house that left me feeling quite unimpressed (even with a $6M price tag) I thought I'd post up the house I'd most like to buy in Brisbane right now.

    34 Mullens Street Hamilton Qld 4007 - House for Sale #119802559 - realestate.com.au

    and another three -

    12 Ascot St Ascot Qld 4007 - House for Sale #120522365 - realestate.com.au
    28 Moreton Street New Farm Qld 4005 - House for Sale #119764235 - realestate.com.au
    19 Hillside Crescent Hamilton Qld 4007 - House for Sale #119531207 - realestate.com.au

I've always loved this era of house. Big, but not OTT, and class all the way (just like me) :p:D

Link to the $6m price tag house?

I like contemporary, minimalist 'boring' house, nothing worth mentioning  given me any of the house I can win in the lottery and I'd be happy as long as it has a nice pool.

Love the build on the older house, just don't have the capability to clean and maintain all the nook and cranny

Here is the house that made me want to put on a jumper to warm up :D

Sold Price for 1 Palm Avenue Ascot Qld 4007

I reckon cleaning any house that is big would be a PITA. I also like modern houses, but it has to be pretty special. I'd LOVE to do a loft or industrial/warehouse conversion.

Even if its mine (allegedly), it's soul-less.

I think so too... it feels like a foyer in a Hilton, empty, hollow and I reckon it would echo.

But if someone wanted to give it to me, I'd sell it and buy one of the ones I linked to :D.

If you could afford the house you'd be able to afford the cleaner(s) to go with it :p

The first one is divine but way too big. The 2nd one is very homey and exudes atmosphere.
The 6m dollar one has a lot of great features like the pool but I can hear the heels on the floor and the echoes of hushed voices. Yeah foyer is OTT.

I love all the houses you have chosen @wylie ....but only in a romantic "aren't they gorgeous" type way. I came to the realisation a loooong time ago that I DETEST housework , and am a (more than) little OCD. So I would never be able to keep a house like those clean enough to my standards without a full time team of cleaners. Seeing as I like my privacy too much to leave my cr@p around for the "help" to clean up...huge houses will just not work.

They look cheap don't they. Cheap and nasty. Ugh. Don't like the house at all.

    Me too.

Wog House or Geoffrey Edelston/Donald Trump type trash. I imagine the owners checking their images in the tiles every time they walk past.

I see what you mean. It's .... Yuk.... Unnecessarily big and doesn't feel I like a house. That dining looks like conference room.

    me too.
would love any of them but with a full time cleaner.
I have a largish house now and cleaners for 10 hours a week. It's not enough :( my house is always messy.
