What was wrong with the old red brick? ;)
    That makes a huge difference.

I have booked in the roof painter to start on Tuesday. He said it will take a couple of days. Can't wait to see it finished. I will post some pics once it is done.

Exciting. This is your house right not an IP?
How did you go with that big beam you were thinking about putting in between the kitchen/living room?

Yes it's my ppor as I don't have any ips yet. I am tidying the house up a bit before I get a valuation done so I can borrow some money and it has also given me a bit of time to learn more about investing and try and find some suburbs to invest in.

I'm not in that much of a hurry to do the kitchen/living room yet and I don't really have the spare money yet until I go back to work after being on compo for a year.

I will probably do it next year after I have bought a property or 2. The kitchen is still in good condition so I'm not in much of a hurry.

Good stuff, there's more than one 1 way to skin a cat (apparently, I only know 1). Should get a pretty good valuation.

    Thanks azazel,

Our next door neighbours just sold their house last month for $700k and their house was pretty outdated and kitchen smaller than ours and we have a pool. We only paid $445k for ours, so should give me some decent equity I hope.

    Hey Brian
Your PPOR looks great . You mentioned the whole house was meshed was this so the render would hold to the brick work ? Also was your place a mixture of brick and blue board ? If so how did the blue board come up ?
    thanks

Sorry for the late reply. The mesh is used because we get a fair bit of movement in our house as it gets some vibration occasionally from the m5 motorway. The house was all brick but it would look exactly the same if it was blueboard.

My advice to anyone getting their house rendered and roof painted would be to do the roof first as there is more crap on your roof then you think and it makes a lot of mess on the ground.

Update on the roof restoration. We now have colour. They also installed 2 whirly birds for us free of charge, we just supplied them. Fence and carport get done tomorrow.
