    I just want to let everyone out there who are looking for a new PM in Brisbane to steer clear of a company called Hot Property Specialists in East Brisbane. I found them to be rude to both my tenants and myself, and deceitful.

    Lets put it this way...They could write a sitcom like Faulty Towers about this company. The owner even has her own husband as the handy man that will invoice you for work completed that contradicts what was originally quoted verbally and written via email. And when you ask why such a big difference in the original cost to the invoice. They will not give you any reasons why and say 'That's just what it came to'. We had to pay $400 for replacing a kitchen hinge and tightening a shower rose. And when you request more info, she will hang up on you. You haven't got a leg to stand on because they withdrawal the money straight from the rental account. I have a heap more stories as well. My tenants were also contacting me on how abrasive and abrupt they were to them too.

    Is it easy to change PM ? Are there anything locking you with this PM ?

    Yes, very easy to change. I have already. The rules generally are that you need to give them 30 days notice. All I wanted to do was let any property owners out there who were considering a PM in Brisbane to steer away from Hot Property Specialists, East Brisbane. They are simply too unprofessional and quite frankly dictatorial bureaucrats to both owners and tenants.

    Hi there, It is just a shame that there is not a forum like tica for landlords. We should have known when taking over the properties that there were red flags. When there are 2 different management companies looking after 5 properties and neither of them could wait to hand over the keys, they basically threw them at us and in fact one of them said good luck you will definitely work for your money with these properties/ landlord.We are handing over the keys before the 30 day notice is even up and will too be saying good luck to the new management company.

    Haha, I am struggling with Remax United Vision (in Carina, Brisbane south side) at the moment, in particular, with their PM and the principal. I'm not going into details as I'm still trying to have the problems solved.

    What does your rental agreement state regarding repair notification?

    Hopefully not to get ripped off and told one price and then given a completely new price that was more than the written and verbal quote. BTW, do you think it should be disclosed in writing that Principal should disclose that the handyman is her own husband before the work is started?

    All good now as I have spoken to all my tenants and they are very happy to see the back of Hot Property Specialists too. One of my tenants wondered why we ever went to them in the first place as they had a run in with HPS once before.

    So, sorry to hear that. There doesn't seem to be any respect form certain PM's to owners. They think they can act how they wish because they are regulated by the RTA. I have been a property owner for over 30 years and have never experienced the rudeness I experienced from Hot Property Specialists, East Brisbane.

    Usually management agreement stipulate how much they can pay put of your rent without your authorisation. So if they exceeded this in paying the invoice there may be a breech of contract..
