    Im always confused when insurers ask how much insurance I want to replace the house or value of the house .
    Is there a guide.
    I on a 760 sq m block with a 3 br brick veneer. Sunshine coast.
    Current house land value 550/600k.
    Council land rate value 250k.

    They seem a little on the high side, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

    Im basically interested in how much I need to spend to rebuild if I need.
    Real estate House valuation 550/600k.
    Council rate land value. 250k.

    Anyone here would need more information. A 600k house in the sticks is going to be a lot more expensive to rebuild than one that is 5km from the CBD...

    If possible, get insurance for the cost of the rebuild instead of for a specific value. Will ensure you don't end up being underinsured.
